Yesong JHUNG, who calls herself an Artistic Worker, has been trying to find her place in the world and society. Based on the concept of utopia, she seeks to determine where she will come closest to it. So, it's through a variety of media - sculpture, drawing, publishing, video, etc. - that she tries to find her ideal.

     And two major elements stand out in this search for the perfect. The 1st is the cube. Normally a regular hexahedron with six equal faces, Yesong JHUNG enjoys modeling it, through material or shape, as if to recount her experience in her quest in search of her idyll. And the 2nd is displacement. Whether in her country of origin, which is Korea, or in France, she has often changed places of life. The many moves she's made are therefore a reason for her search for her position in our world. This results in 9 illustrations of the various places where she has resided since a young age, or a map of the numerous trips that she makes during her daily life.

     All these works constitute for her an attempt to resolve the questions that torment her. Inspired by the cubic form, perfect and at the same time modular, and its numerous movements, culturally rich and exhilarating, Yesong JHUNG therefore attempts to glimpse its utopia.
